Rhinoplasty "Nose Job Surgery"
The "Musts" you should know…In a nutshell!
First things first… What is a rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty, the cosmetic nasal surgery commonly called a "nose job", is one of the most delicate of plastic surgeries. The nasal cavity, being completely hollow, must be altered with great care.
The goal of a rhinoplasty, performed by Montreal's surgeon Dr Nabil Fanous, is to achieve a more beautiful and proportional nose, all the while keeping its main breathing role intact, as well as preserving its internal structure.
What are the criteria for a successful nasal surgery "rhinoplasty"?
The top priority of Dr. Nabil Fanous is a 'natural look'.
According to him, a successful result for a rhinoplasty is a nicer looking nose that is also very natural looking.
What is the new rhinoplasty technique called « Mini-Incisions »?
« Mini-Incisions » is a unique surgical technique created and developed by Dr. Nabil Fanous, a renowned Montreal surgeon.
It is composed of three key elements:
a) the mini-incisions, meaning tiny incisions made inside the nose;
b) the mini-surgery, meaning the least possible cutting or dissection
c) the use of threads to pull the inner tissues in order to decrease the dissection and the detachment of nasal tissues.
It is a technique that provides a satisfactory outcome with a minimal risk factor.
Furthermore, it significantly reduces facial edema (water retention) during the postoperative period.
During this nasal plastic surgery technique, Dr. Fanous files down the bony excess and removes the extra-cartilage.
The scars are placed by Dr. Fanous inside the nasal cavity. In the case where a reduction of the size of the nostrils is required, short scars are left at the base of the nostrils.
To raise part of the nose and improve its appearance, a cartilage (a graft from the nose or ears), a fascia (a soft tissue under the skin behind the ear) or synthetic implants can be used.
